Today, Mia and I went on a tour of the Capitol. The rooms that hold the Senate and the House of Representatives are closed on Saturdays, but we learned a lot about the history of the building and saw the crypt, the inside of the dome and the old house of representatives room, which is now the hall of statues.
After the tour, I rushed to get to Dupont Circle in time to have coffee with Rachel, a friend from Yale. Then I did some book shopping. Since I arrived in DC, I've read Don Quixote (934 pages), the Historian (730 pages), The Sound and the Fury (340 pages) and The Midwife (320 pages). I'm on a roll!
